SuVayu 2K

Cleaner air for every room on the AHU.

A 2,000 CFM (3,400 m³/h) unit fitted in the return duct of an existing air-handling unit. Filters, an adsorbent bed and a UV-C lamp treat particles, gases and microbes without HEPA filters.

For: Hospitals (OPD, wards, ICU corridors), shopping malls, food courts, campuses and offices

Bought as: Unit and installation per AHU, with AMC; first sites as monitored pilots

What it does

Central air conditioning recirculates most of the air in a hospital or a mall, and the fine particles, odours and microbes go round with it.

SuVayu 2K sits in the return duct of the air-handling unit (AHU). Air passes a pre-filter, a fine filter, an adsorbent bed and a UV-C chamber, then goes back to supply. Low pressure drop, slide-out trays, no HEPA filters to clog and replace.

Why it is different

  • Treats gases and microbes as well as particles; conventional AC filtration treats particles only.
  • Fits the AHU you already have; no new ducting.
  • No HEPA dependency, so lower pressure drop and simpler maintenance.
  • Monitoring and reporting built in, for infection-control and facilities teams.

Specification

Key figures

Design targets from the specification. No unit has been measured yet.

Airflow
2,000 CFM (≈ 3,400 m³/h)
Room refresh
≈ 38 air changes per hour (ACH) in a typical common room
Particulate stage
Pre-filter + fine filter (100–300 mm)
Adsorption chamber
150–200 mm bed of Bhagirath adsorbent
Microbial stage
UV-C chamber (400–600 mm)
Footprint
0.8 × 0.8 × 1.3 m
Design targets, per pass
PM 98 % · gases 95 % · microbes 90–99 %
Service
Slide-out filter and adsorbent trays, no HEPA

How it works

Four stages, one pass

  1. Return air in

Mixed air from the AHU return enters the unit.

  2. Filter stages

Pre-filter and fine filter remove coarse and fine dust.

  3. Adsorbent + UV-C

Gases bind to the adsorbent; UV-C inactivates microbes.

  4. Clean air back to supply

The fan returns treated air to the AHU supply.

Status & evidence

Status: design stage

Specification and drawings are complete. We are selecting a first hospital or mall for a monitored installation. The pilot protocol measures against WHO PM2.5 guideline values and ASHRAE 170 air-change practice for healthcare spaces.

Commercial model

How it is bought

Priced per site after sizing. Every supply comes with an annual maintenance contract (AMC) option and a measurement plan, so you see inlet and outlet readings for your own installation.

  • Unit supply and installation, per AHU
  • AMC: filter and adsorbent tray replacement
  • Optional monitoring with reports for infection-control audits
  • First sites: monitored pilot installation on pilot terms

Questions we get

Is this an air purifier?

No. It is an AHU component. It treats the whole air stream of the unit, so every room on that AHU gets the same air.

Will it affect the AC performance?

The unit is designed for low pressure drop so the existing fans can handle it. Airflow is verified at the complete operating condition on site.

How often is service needed?

Filters and adsorbent trays slide out; intervals depend on the site and are set during the pilot.

Does it replace HEPA in an operating theatre or ICU?

No. Operating theatres and ICUs keep their terminal HEPA filtration. SuVayu 2K treats the wards, OPD and common areas on the same AHU.
