What it does

A wood-fired oven in a dense neighbourhood means visible smoke, soot on the neighbours’ balconies and, sooner or later, a notice. A taller chimney or an industrial scrubber does not fit a city kitchen or its budget.

SuVayu-Bake mounts on the existing exhaust. A soot filter and an adsorbent stage take out the particulates and the smell. Kitchen staff change the media on a schedule.

Why it is different

  • Fits a city kitchen: no construction, no new ducting.
  • Tuned for wood soot, which clogs ordinary kitchen filters.
  • Built for outlets answering a pollution-board or society notice on solid-fuel cooking.
  • Media changed by kitchen staff; replacement kits supplied on a schedule.

How it works

Four stages, one pass

  1. Capture at the hood

Oven exhaust is drawn into the unit before the chimney.

  2. Soot and ash stage

Particulate filtration tuned for wood soot.

  3. Adsorbent stage

Odours and gases bind to the Bhagirath adsorbent.

  4. Clean exhaust

Treated air leaves through the existing flue.

Status & evidence

First reading, 14 May 2026

The first unit is on a wood-fired pizza oven. With the unit bypassed, a handheld meter at the exhaust read PM2.5 above its 999 µg/m³ limit and CO₂ at 8,248 ppm. Six minutes later, with the unit in line, the same meter read 559 µg/m³ and 400 ppm.

One spot reading, one instrument, one afternoon. The next installations are being measured under a written before/after protocol.

Commercial model

How it is bought

Priced per site after sizing. Every supply comes with an annual maintenance contract (AMC) option and a measurement plan, so you see inlet and outlet readings for your own installation.

  • Unit and installation, quoted on oven type and exhaust route
  • Replacement filter and media kits, about three sets a year
  • Annual service visit and help with notices
  • Optional connected reporting

Questions we get

Will it change how my oven cooks?

No. The unit works on the exhaust side; the oven draft is maintained.

Can my staff maintain it?

Yes. Media changes are designed to be done by kitchen staff on a schedule we provide.

Does it help with complaints and notices?

Visible smoke and smell at the flue are what neighbours and inspectors react to. In the first installation both dropped with the unit in line. We give you before/after readings for your own oven to show the society or the inspector.
